Nicodemus, a devout Pharisee and ruler of the Jews went to Jesus by night and started acknowledging His origin and authenticity of His ministry by the miracles He did. However, Jesus said to him “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). Therefore *”You must be born again”* (v7). In other words, Nicodemus had not believed in the Son of God who gives eternal life to the whole world.
Beloved, your reading about Jesus is good, but that cannot save you; your thesis about Him can’t save you either; you may be singing songs about Him, but still you need to be born again. _You may know all the ten commandments and be able to perform several religious duties but that cannot save you_. Jesus told him categorically in verse sixteen that “whosoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. Thus, entrusting your entire life, confidence and convictions in Jesus as your only Saviour is the only requirement for possessing eternal life, the God kind of life. Hallelujah !
Another word for “whosoever” is “individually”. If any individual believes in the Son of God, he will be born again by the life of God (i.e. spiritually born of God). He now becomes a child of God, and ceases to be a child of the devil (John 1:12,13). No one can make this decision for you, not even your parents, friend or loved one. Cherished one, this is the most important or ultimate individual decision everyone on earth SHOULD MAKE. Because eternal life is a necessity for living victoriously on earth and in the world to come. Make this ultimate decision now, if you haven’t*. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank You for sending Your only begotten Son to die for my sins. I believe in Him as my Lord, Saviour and source of my life. I cherish the eternal life that I possess now. I am glad to know I am born again and now called a legitimate child of God. I thank You for this glorious redemption plan in Jesus Name. Amen !
