Impacting Evolving Minds

Q & A: What is SIN? -Kenneth Copeland

Answer:

Sin is the lust or desire conceived in man’s soul that draws him away from God and toward his own pleasures. James 1:14-15 says, “Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin….”

Initially, we sin when we wrongfully desire something out of covetousness, envy, pride or anger. Those desires create unrest until our intense longing for it provokes our mind to determine a way for us to obtain what we desire. And finally, we choose with our will to have it.

We have to violate our conscience to sin, and when we do, we cannot act in faith. Romans 14:23 says, “For whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”
