Q & A: I Believe in Healing, But I Still Have Symptoms of Sickness. Should I Take Medicine?-Kenneth Copeland

Answer

Some believers mistakenly think that by refusing medical help, they’ll automatically guarantee their healing. Don’t fall into that trap. It’s not what you do without that will restore your health; it’s what you do with the faith you have!

If your faith is not strongly developed in the area of healing, you may find it difficult to believe for that healing without taking any medication. That’s fine. God loves you, and He’s willing to meet you on any level of faith at which you can receive.

The important thing is to get into the Word of God and exercise the faith you have. In your case, that may mean accepting the help of your doctor and the medicine he prescribes while trusting the Lord to strengthen you and give you a supernaturally sure and quick recovery.

Exactly how can you determine your personal level of faith?

Colossians 3:15 tells you. It says “let peace be your umpire.”

If, when you think of relying on the power of God alone (without the benefit of doctors and medication), fear and insecurity rises up inside you, then it would appear that your faith is not yet developed fully enough to take that route. On the other hand, if you have peace about believing God and are secure in knowing that your body will be totally healed without medical attention, it seems that your faith will do the job.

So, seek the Lord’s guidance. Let peace be umpire in your heart. And trust God without wavering. And, whatever alternative you select, don’t let Satan bring you under condemnation. It’s none of his business.
