PRAY FOR THE WELFARE OF YOUR NATION (Pt. 2)

6.¶Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May those who love her prosper!-[NET ]

PRAYER is one powerful weapon we have as Christians. Prayer functions as a control room where you effect positive changes. Even if all your certificates, knowledge and wisdom fail, your prayer for your nation will change things. Hallelujah! One great man of God has rightly said that, ” evil and more evil prevail when the righteous is doing nothing”. It’s time you seek the welfare of your nation through prayer. Because it’s not by mistake that you were born in that country. You never chose the country of your birth, it was predestined.

In praying for your nation, it is important to target certain key areas or sectors such as leadership, employment, energy, water, finances and more importantly for great platforms and avenues for the propagation of the gospel. Pray that the word of God will always have free course in your nation (2 Thess 3:1). *The extent to which the gospel is preached and accepted determines the prosperity of the country*. Yes, pray that the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ will saturate the nations in all strength.

*Another area to target with your prayers is to pray for the repentance or demotion, suspension and dismissal of those who are willingly and wickedly fighting against the progress of the country*. In the book of Nehemiah, some people were grieved that the nation will prosper due to their own selfish interest. Consider Nehemiah 2:10 “When they (Sanballat & Tobiah) heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly because a man had come to seek the WELFARE of the children of Israel”. Your prayer can change many of such situations. Keep praying for the welfare of your country and you’ll see great results. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER
My Lord and my God, I give You praise for my presence in this country. I pray and seek the welfare of her citizens. I declare righteousness, peace and prosperity to prevail. I declare that God’s undiluted word is gaining preeminence in this nation. Evil, poverty, wickedness and injustice shall not prevail in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
