HE DEFINES YOUR IDENTITY
Judges 6 vs
»»12.¶ And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valour”.~[NKJV]««||
HAVE YOU been insulted or done that to someone before? Well, if you live in this part of the world, then you have probably experienced both before. And how did you feel especially when someone insulted or abused you verbally. You felt bad, fooled, embarrassed or harassed? Have you sat down to think of it why you felt as such? Well, someone may call it the power of words.
But I call it ‘anti-identity response’. *Any word spoken against your real identity will cause a response within*. This is because there is something inherent in man by God that ‘repels’ negative ‘stuff’. Nobody rejoices when he is verbally abused or insulted. That person will either react in anger, frowning or insult back. This is because man was created in the image of God (Gen 1:26). When the image does not like what it hears, it rebels or repels.
On the other hand, when you hear good news or someone encourages or praises you for a good done, you feel happy and joyful within and react positively. God, the Creator truly understands how He made you. Therefore He can truly define your identity. That’s why He has defined us in the Bible countless times. We are called saints, holy, peculiar people, light of the world, salt of the earth, blessed, righteous, rich, glorious, prosperous etc. He called Gideon “mighty man of valour” even when he didn’t know himself as one. You might not be aware of who you are in Christ but God calls you by His definition, not yours. However, find more about who you are from the scriptures.
Your real identity or destiny can only be revealed when you are in Christ. All you have to do now is to accept who God says you are and live it. Never allow or accept any identity contrary to what your Maker has defined. For only your Maker knows your real make-up. As a child of God, you are not defined by any category that debase your identity in Christ. You are a new creation, a new citizen gloriously loved by your Maker. Stand up and live for your Father’s definition of you. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,a peculiar person, created in the image of God. I am full of God’s glory, love, power and grace. I am rich, prosperous and healthy. I am not what my environment imposes on me. I am who God says I am! And I live as such. Hallelujah!
