HUMILITY, THE WAY TO ENJOY MORE GRACE

>>5.¶Likewise, you young people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.”~[NKJV]
HUMILITY is among the greatest virtues in the Kingdom of Christ. And its opponent is pride. And what makes pride dangerous is that “God resists the proud”. The Almighty God Himself resists the proud? Yes, He does. He first dealt with the devil when pride entered his heart in heaven. He detests pride. For pride goes before destruction (Prov 16:18). The word “resist” comes from the Greek word “antitassomai”, which means “to range in battle against” or “to oppose someone”. Interestingly, that same rendition is used for the devil in James 4:7, “Resist the devil…”
This is why the Spirit through the Apostles admonish us to be clothed in humility. To humble oneself presupposes that there is a HIGHER power or authority. We are to humble ourselves first before God and also before the brethren (1Pet 5:5,6). To be humble before God means to recognise His essence and take God’s word as the standard for your life.True humility is determined by the state or attitude of your heart and actions towards God’s word and others. It goes beyond mere appearance or behaviour modification. Because there are many proud hearts with “humble” faces.* This is why you need to apply God’s word to your life. It will change you from inside out.
God exalts and promotes the humble. How? By giving him MUCH grace to enjoy life (James 4:6). Humble folks are always prosperous because they give God’s word the first place in their lives. Humility causes God to invoke “all graces” to abound towards you spiritually, financially, health-wise, marriage, ministry and in all facets of your life. But note, humility is not being coward; No! it’s not keeping quiet and maintaining certain posture or appearance. Humility is not trying to please everybody. Pleasing everyone who comes your way is slavery. True humility is pleasing your Maker. Cherished one, the best way to receive and enjoy more grace, promotion and greatness is to be clothed and practically walk in the spirit of humility. Resit any temptation to be proud. Grace and peace from our Lord Jesus Christ be multiplied unto you always. Amen!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank You for the virtue of humility. I am clothed with humility because it’s part of the divine nature. I am empowered to walk in it all my lifetime. Thank You for lavishing more grace on me to live humbly before you and the brethren. I resist any temptation of pride and embrace all noble ways of humility in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
