THE FATHER’S REVELATION OF THE SON
Matthew 16 vs
17.¶Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood HAS NOT revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. -[NKJV]_ ||||
YOU MAY have read books upon books and done research upon research about who Jesus is, but will never grasp His real identity unless you allow the Spirit of the Father to reveal Him to you. It is the revelation of the Father about Jesus that holds for eternity, not what some scholars, philosophers or religion “think” about Him. Jesus is NOT like anyone of the religious leaders in the various humanly created religions; that’s why He never brought a religion. He brought the Way, The Reality and the Life. So true Christianity is living the Way, the Reality and the Life (John 14:6)
The world’s religions have their founders from men who are dead and don’t even know their stand on the judgement day. But Jesus proceeds from the Father Himself. So unless your human spirit is subjected under God’s Spirit, the “real”Jesus will elude you. Mere flesh and blood (human senses or philosophy) CANNOT fully reveal the real Messiah. So it’s no wonder a lecturer or professor will teach about Jesus to the students but will never believe in Him himself. Because Jesus is too big for his mind’s comprehension.
One day, Jesus asked His disciples “Who do men say that I, the Son of man, am?”. Thus, He wanted to know the public or societal view of Himself. But surprisingly, all their answers placed Him in the prophetic level of Jeremiah, Elijah, John the Baptist or one of the prophets (Mat 16: 13,14). But Simon Peter inspired by God’s Spirit gave exactly who JESUS was-“YOU ARE THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD”. Hallelujah ! This is the major key on which Christianity or the Church is being built. Anyone or religion or denomination which places JESUS only on the PROPHETIC pedestal needs to a renewal by the Word and the Spirit. For Jesus is more than a prophet; He is the Son of the living God, the God who manifested in the flesh on earth (1John 4:2/Phil 2:5/John 20:28-30)
It is vital to understand this revelation. Jesus said “…No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and the person to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.” (Luke 10:22). Therefore, for you to get the fullest glimpse of Jesus, the Father will have to reveal Him to you by His Spirit. And for you to get the fullest glimpse of the Father too, the Son will have to reveal Him unto you by the same Spirit; for no one knows the things of God EXCEPT the Spirit of God (1 Cor 2:11). Allow God’s Spirit to reveal to you the real Christ, the Son of the Living God and His essence. For until you know Him well, you can’t serve Him well. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I give You praise for the deeper revelation of Your only begotten Son to me. I dwell on this revelation in order for my entire life to be built by Your power. By this, I know that no gate of Hades shall ever prevail against me. Because I have seen, known and believed the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Hallelujah !
