A POSITIVE YOKE
Matthew 11 vs
29. ¶Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.-|KJV|
CHRIST’S invitation to weary and heavy laden souls unveils as He yelled “Come to me all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Mat 11:28). And He continued with the opening scripture “Take my yoke upon you…”. Here,Jesus portrays an excellent picture of relief, freedom and salvation for weary and heavy laden souls. He knew that the load of sin leads many to be spiritually weary and burdened. He knew the problem of mankind and offered solution in Himself because he is Jesus, the Saviour. He declared “and I WILL GIVE YOU REST” .
Just come to Him, for He truly gives total rest on every side. Your search for fulfillment will stop the moment you embrace Jesus, the rest giver. However for you to continue to walk in total rest for your soul, you must “TAKE HIS YOKE UPON YOU”. The secular world gives a yoke to bear; a yoke of sin, wickedness, hatred, envy, poverty, sickness, struggles, death and all sort of sufferings and its heaviness makes the soul sink and deteriorate. But Christ said He also gives a “positive yoke” which is found in His life, nature, attitude and character of which he mentioned two as gentleness or meekness and humility.
Beloved, Jesus can offload anything of the devil and loads you with His benefits. Take the yoke of His commands, His way of life, thinking and talking upon you by way of learning from Him and your soul will forever be at rest with total peace. Get this, no one can help, love and transform your life the way Jesus would do. Decide today to bear that mark for He said His yoke is easy and His burden is light (EASY- YOKE, LIGHT- BURDEN) (Mt 11:31). Because His positive yoke is carried in love and faith fulfilling all righteousness. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you a always.
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, I take Your yoke upon myself and walk with You the rest of my life. I am assured of total rest and peace for my soul. Because I know that whatever yoke and burden You give, you also give the strength to carry. So I ask and receive much strength from You right now to walk in this positive yoke for Your glory. Amen !
