24/7 DOXA Content 3rd May-WORTHY TO SUFFER SHAME FOR HIS NAME

HAVE YOU thought of what’s so peculiar and glorious about Christianity that makes it face such intense persecutions from almost all angles in the world? For instance, the announcement of Jesus’ birth sparked an intense hatred in Herod who even killed all babies born in Jesus’ era( Mat 2:16). The Psalmist projected this prophetically in Psalms (2:1,2) “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed…”

The answers are vividly given in the scripture that Jesus was manifested to destroy the works of the devil (1John 3:8). So the devil opposed Him by influencing kings, presidents and people of authority to enact laws, customs to oppose Him. But Jesus foretold His disciples that _”Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for MY sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you (Mat 5:11,12)._

And this is what happened to these early disciples. They rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer for the Name Jesus. *The natural mind always want retaliation and defensiveness but that’s not for the true disciples of Jesus Christ.* This shows a sense of love, faith and maturity in Christ. Thus, in the midst of persecution like scourging, insults, imprisonment, etc, you could still rejoice and give glory to God. This is the doing of the power of the Spirit in them. When you are hated, insulted and spat upon because you preached Jesus, what would be your reaction?

Beloved, count it worthy, honoured and rejoice if it’s for the sake of Christ.* That rejoicing attitudes even breaks the devil the more. *No amount of challenges and persecution should stop you from loving and preaching Christ.* The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank You for counting me worthy to even rejoice and suffer for Your Name’s sake. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it’s the power of God unto salvation. I am impacting my world with the gospel. I refuse to fear. I boldly advance in promoting the course of Christ in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen !
