ONE great lesson to emulate from Jesus’ disciples is their readiness to ask questions. Yes, there were some things they didn’t understand and they asked. According to Matthew 24:2, they asked a remarkable and timeless question. They wanted to know from Jesus some of the signs that would mark the end times. And Jesus answered them to take heed that no man deceived them. “Take heed” is from the Greek word “blepō” which means _“see to it, watch out, becareful, weigh carefully, examine or stay alert”._
Yes, Jesus has cautioned us to watch out against any form of deception. *This is your responsibility; guard what you have believed from God’s word; guard your heart and mind with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23).* _To be deceived means you’ve been misled, or led astray, or led aside from the right way, truth or virtue into error and sin._ This age is characterized by a lot of heretics and doctrines of demons. This implies that if you do not stay alert, discern and carefully examine what you hear or read you can be deceived.
Note, Cherished one, Jesus didn’t say that an angel or demon would deceive them but MAN (i.e. human being or people). This means that the devil, the father of liars would carry his “deceptive ministry” through people, not demons per say. Even though he may manipulate weak minds through his demons, he will execute it physically through people. *Jesus said those who have believed in Him should STAY ALERT to avoid being deceived; So stay alert in word studies, prayer and guidance of the Holy Spirit.* The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
_Father of truth, I thank You for the ability to walk in truth to avoid being deceived. Your Spirit of truth has brought me great enlightenment, revelation and illumination to discern truth from error. I graciously stay alert, stand and walk in the truth and refuse to be deceived in Jesus Name! Amen!_
