WALKING AS A SPIRITUAL MAN

1 Corinthians 3 vs

Our focal text unveils that there is a category called spiritual men. For the Apostle said he couldn’t speak with them as spiritual people. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 unveils some behaviour of a spiritual man. First, He has received the Spirit which is from God in order to know the things that are freely given to him by God. Thus, a spiritual man knows his identity and what belongs to him in Christ. And he forges ahead to know Christ the more and also takes advantage of what belongs to him. He doesn’t live in spiritual ignorance. He seeks to become conscious of what God has made him to become and have.

Spiritual folks also speak words which the Holy Spirit teach, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. They do not rely on the teachings, wisdom or philosophies of men. Morever, the spiritual man unlike the natural man is able to know, receive and spiritually discern the things of God because they are not foolishness unto him (vs 14). *To add up, the spiritual man knows or perceive the mind of Christ because he is acquainted with the Word of God.* He is one who believes and trust God; He lives in unfeigned love and total obedience to Him.

The understanding of his heart is enlightened, not darkened. He walks in the spirit of wisdom and revelation of God the Father and of the Son (Ephesians 1:17,18). He conveys a glorious and unashamed composure to the things of God. He knows how to have fellowship with the Father, the Son and the Spirit. A spiritual man has learned to walk in love towards God and the brethren. He hates whatever Christ hates and loves what He loves. He promotes whatever God promotes and vise versa. He believes in the all in all in Christ and lives accordingly. He is not perfect but lives graciously by faith in Christ daily.

Cherished one, choose to walk as a spiritual man; for to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6). The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER
Glorious Holy Father, I thank You for Your ability and life in me that empowers me to be a spiritual man. I humbly submit to the dictates of Your word and Spirit to conduct myself as a spiritual man in all my ways by grace through faith in Jesus Name. Amen!
