USE THE TONGUE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE _______________________________

APOSTLE James describes the tongue as a world. He reveals how powerful it can be (James 3:1). Your total prosperity depends on God but the delivery of your salvation, forgiveness, prosperity, health is in your tongue (Jos 1:8, Rom 10:9,10). You either use it to your advantage or disadvantage.Many Christians treat this lightly because they are not conscious of the impact it brings on their lives. Many of them have been ensnared by the word of their tongue. Whether you are conscious of it or not, it’s either working for you or against you.

However, as a child of the most high God, you must let it work in your favour. The tongue has two main directions. One, it can direct you into life ( prosperity, health, joy etc) or death (failure, curses, evil etc).1 Peter 3:10 enjoins “For the person who wants to love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.” The responsibility lies on you to “KEEP your tongue from speaking evil and deceit”. “Deceit” means any ‘treachery’ or lies or fallacy that contradicts God’s counsel. “Keeping your tongue” is not the responsibility of God, it’s yours.

You can keep your tongue only if you can guard your heart and renew your mind consistently through God’s word (Prv 4:23; Rom 12:2). Feed your heart with God’s word and speak life in consistency not occasionally or when you feel like it. No one or thing should dictate the direction of your tongue except God’s word. Remember, we are not talking about just quoting scriptures, but declaring the truth and revelation of God’s word concerning your situation. God’s word will never fail to fulfill its purpose. Change the direction of situations to your favour with the power of your tongue. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

Your word is nigh in my heart and mouth. So I can’t keep quiet. I speak success over my life, I speak health over my body. I declare excellence, advancement and progress over my business, marriage, kids, ministry etc. My tongue is full of Your power. So I speak life and blessings. I am a victor in Christ, not a victim. I reign as a king in life in Jesus Name. Thank You Lord !
