THE armour of God portrays a picture of the multifaceted dimension of our Christian journey with God. Thus, your stability in Christ is tied to knowing and applying the various principles unveiled in the Kingdom of God’s dear Son. The Apostle through the Spirit is revealing to us the various armour needed to successfully stand and withstand the schemes of the devil. Aside putting on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, your feet should be shod with the preparation or readiness of the gospel of peace.

Thus, as a Christian soldier, the shoes or boots to guard your feet is the gospel of Christ through which you obtain peace with God (Romans 5:6-10). The believer is to stand firm on the good news which is the power of God unto salvation (Romans1:16). Stick to it, contend for it, without being moved from it. It is said of Roman soldiers that they wore boots with nails in them to grip the ground in combat. The devil cannot withstand the one rightly holding the gospel of peace.

The gospel of peace is that confidence of divine support which allows the believer to stand firm, knowing that since he is at peace with God, God is his strength (Rom. 8:31; 37–39). Cherished one, the armour to keep you standing firm in your faith is trusting, relying and proclaiming the gospel of peace to the Nations. Be fully conscious that God is at peace with you, without war and that you are empowered to fulfill the ministry of reconciliation, not condemnation. Bind yourself with the gospel of peace in your words, thoughts and actions; for Jesus came to give us eternal peace with God. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER

God of all peace, thank You for the revelation that Your undiluted word unveils to my spirit. Thank You for being at peace with me. Thank You for empowering me to proclaim this gospel to the nations without holding back in Jesus Name. Amen!
