SEEK TO UNDERSTAND GOD’S WORD

19》When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.~《NKJV》

THE greatest JOY of the devil is that you do not understand the word of God. Instead, he wants you to be confused and later doubt and ignore it. He knows when you receive, believe and understand it, you will put to work to make your life prosperous. This is why he started attacking the word God gave to the first parents, Adam and Eve. Note, he didn’t attack the garden, nor the personality of Adam and Eve (Gen 3:1-4). He attacked the word they had received, because he knew the word of God they had held unto was the greatest pillar keeping them.

In our focal text, Jesus explains why the word of God doesn’t benefit some people who hear it. He said lack of understanding can lead to lost of the Word from your heart. Here, He is not talking about mental understanding, rather understanding with your heart (spirit man). Folks who seeks to understand only by their logical, mental or natural mind do not hold to the word for long. This is because the things of the Spirit are received spiritually and nurtured in the spirit not through carnality.

Beloved, when you hear God’s word, receive, believe it and seek to understand it in the context of the Spirit and how it relates to your situation. If you don’t understand a particular scripture or sermon or subject in the Bible, seek for understanding from anointed teachers of the Word; Else, the devil will come with a debate or argument in your mind to steal the word from your heart. Take advantage of the Spirit of truth and seek to understand the word with your spirit till it takes a deep root in your soul ( mind) and body. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER
Precious Glorious Father, I thank You for the ability of Your word to build me up and give me inheritance. I ask and receive a higher understanding of Your word into matters concerning the Kingdom and life. I refuse to walk in confusion, doubts and argument. I receive your word with understanding and I bear fruits thereof in Jesus Name. Amen !
