REFUSE TO MURMUR

NOTHING dims the glory of a Christian than entertaining bitterness, murmuring and complaining. Many have become stagnant living in such ways. Those who murmur and complain use their creative minds on the wrong stuff. Murmuring is a muttered complaint or protest or expression of dissatisfaction or discontent. They make mutterings of critical and discontented comments. Complainers are those who find fault with their lot; discontented ones. One attitude that never pleased God even in the Old Testament was murmuring. The Israelites on several occasions murmured against God, and against Moses and Aaron (their leaders).

Today, it isn’t different from the way some people live their lives. They murmur and complain against God, family, the government, almost everyone. Murmuring is a strong enemy of progress. Those Israelites thought that was the only way to channel their grievances to God. But murmuring and complaining are not the right way to send your petitions to God. We are to pray and send in our petitions in faith, not otherwise. There are no shortcomings with God, so do not count Him for your predicaments. Murmuring is a sign of unbelief and weak faith.

In the New Testament, which reveals true spiritual worship and serving God in the newness of life, murmuring and complaining are not entertained. For we are strongly admonished in 1 Corinthians 10:10, “Neither murmur, as some of them also murmured…”. In Philippians 2:14, we are entreated to “Do all things without murmurings and disputings”._ Rather, in all things give thanks to God for all the good He has done; Refuse to be ungrateful (Hebrews 13:15).

Instead of murmuring or complaining, rejoice in word of the Lord which reveals your glorious future to you. Cherished one, don’t look at what you don’t have physically and murmur or complain against God or others. Look at what you have, cherish it and use it for God’s glory and you will have increase. Walk in high hopes and make your faith alive for the next and higher level. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

I DECLARE
I am the child of the most High God. I think His thoughts and talk His word and act on His word. Therefore I refuse to entertain murmuring and complaining. No matter my lot, I give thanks and praise to your Name. I am empowered to keep on pressing for more of God in Jesus Name. Amen!
