TODAY is a privilege but also an opportunity from God for us to make amends in areas where we fall short as God’s Children. And He is ever ready to help us because scripture affirms that Jesus is touched by the feelings of our infirmities (Heb 4:15). However, unless you wholly yield to God and His word, transformation won’t come alive in you. And before one can fully yield, one has to make a careful reflection of his or her life. To reflect means _” to think seriously; to ponder or consider”_ especially on what you use your entire life for. But it’s only your heart which can reveal the real person you are to you.

The New Living Translation further clarifies our opening text- “As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person.” This implies that to carefully consider issues in a more matured way solely depends on the state of your heart. Thus, the state of your heart determines the real you; for out of it are the issues of life. Beloved, let’s assess our ourselves, what was the state of your heart from January to this very day? Corrupt or incorruptible? Filled with good or evil motives? Positive or negative thoughts? Love or hatred? Forgiveness or bitterness ? Kindness or greed, selflessness or selfishness? Pure or impure? *The state of our heart matters most to God because God looks in there.* (1Sam 16:7).

The wisest king who ever lived before Jesus said ” Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Prov 4:23). Jesus declared “blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God” (Mat 5:8). Unless you allow your heart to be changed by God’s word, your real person will remain the same. Brethren, reflect on your life today of all your actions and inactions this year. And what you will see is as a result of what you constantly put in your heart. Let your heart constantly feed on love, faith, kindness, faithfulness, grace, truth, purity, forgiveness etc in order to fully reflect the real person God made you. Ask for more strength and grace and rely and cooperate with the Holy Spirit to ride on successfully in life. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

I DECLARE
My heart reflects my real personality in a glorious way. For my heart is full of God’s unadulterated word, love and soundness. The love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I ask and receive strength in areas that I need to grow and mature in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen !
