FULL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Acts 6 vs
3.■”Therefore, brothers, appoint seven men among you who have a good reputation, who are full of the Spirit and wisdom, and we’ll put them in charge of this work.”~《ISV》
A careful study of Acts of the Apostles portrays a powerful, faith-filled, anointed, bold and prevailing Church despite the severe persecutions. The early church had first-hand experience of the power of the Holy Spirit as revealed by Jesus (Acts 1:8). Therefore, it is needful to study and learn the various lifestyles and principles that made her the prevailing Church in the midst of serious persecutions. We have seen a powerful custom in the selection of their leaders and the criteria they used. We have discussed that they opted for men of good reputation. Thus, men of attested character. Another criterion was that such persons should be full of the Holy Spirit. They never relegated the Holy Spirit to the background or made Him as option.
Apostle Peter knew how life and ministry would be without the Holy Spirit so they were very serious on that. Beloved, being full of the Holy Spirit is not an option but a necessity for every believer. Being full of the Holy Spirit implies being filled up (as opposed to empty) or thoroughly permeated with His fullness. Thus being complete and lacking nothing which the Spirit supplies. That’s why we learned that they weren’t looking for empty vessels but vessels who have yielded to the Person and character of the Holy Spirit in all fullness. It also means allowing the Holy Spirit to have full expression in you and upon you.
Cherished one, do you want to experience the glorious life of Christ in your life, ministry, marriage, finances, spirit, soul, body etc? Then don’t just have the Spirit, but be full of Him. When you become full of the Holy Spirit, your whole life will be transformed. For the Holy Spirit is the life transformation agent and the energetic force of God. These men were to spearhead the distribution of food as a ministry, however, they needed to be full of the Holy Spirit. So it doesn’t matter where you are called to function, you need to experience a greater fellowship with the Holy Spirit to the extent that you’ll always be filled and full of Him. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always. Amen!
I have the Spirit of Christ in me. Therefore I am forever His. I am filled and full of the Holy Spirit. I am not empty. I am of a weightier matter. I am anointed by the Spirit to fulfill my assignment. I humbly seek for more dimensions of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name. Amen!
