24/7 DOXA Content, 19th March-EXPRESSING LOVE IN DEEDS

If you have love for one another, it will also be demonstrated in your daily action. Apostle John expressed that “But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him? My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth” (1 John 3:17-18). Thus, love is perfected when it meets the needs of the moment.* Stretch out your hands to your neighbour in need. Jesus demonstrated an act of love by using the parable of the good Samaritan.

He said “But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’ …”(Luke 10:33-36). This Samaritan met the need of the moment not expecting anything back.

Cherished one, one hallmark of the true disciple is to wholeheartedly meet the needs of others without any strings attached to it. Your acts of love may even be repay with evil. Nevertheless, you are mandated to have love for one another. Acting in love is a great seed you sow into lives which will never go wasted. As disciples of Christ, the world is looking at us to receive the love of God that we claim we possess. As we show love for the brethren, they will see Jesus in our eyes and believe the gospel. Show love by your words and deeds in truth, without hypocrisy. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER 
Dear Father, thank You for Your unfailing love. I thank You that You’re empowering me to love one another. The love I exhibit is causing many to come into the Kingdom in Jesus Name. Amen!
