MANY people have resolutions, dreams, prayer requests, petitions and heart desires at the beginning of this year that have not been materialized. Sometimes certain things you need per time may not come out as planned. But when it happens like that, what do you do? Do you complain and blame everybody including yourself? When there are challenges, failures, disappointments and seemingly difficult situations, life becomes somehow painful, hurting and disheartening.
But our focal text portrays a beautiful picture and posture in such times; That is, you must choose to rely on God’s word by faith and boldly say “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” *Yes, this may not sound pleasant to the senses but it’s the sure way of the Spirit for advancement.Rejoicing in such times is a declaration of faith. It also paints a picture of believing in what God can do. It positions you to press on to see the brighter side of all the challenges you’ve been going through.The fact that the fig tree didn’t blossom this year doesn’t mean it will never blossom. Cheer up!
Cherished one, no matter what you went though this year, you are being inspired to rejoice in the Lord. Refuse to allow sorrow, hopelessness, pain and dejection rule your life. God has never abandon nor forsaken you because of your challenges. Rise above them by rejoicing in the God of your salvation. Rejoice ! Hallelujah! Shout and sing for joy in the Lord. Be joyful as you enter the new year with a living hope. Never allow anything or person to stop your joy in the Lord. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Dear Joyful Father, in You I find my joy and consolation to move on in this life. I graciously choose to rejoice in You, my God who gives me salvation. In You I find all that pertains to life and godliness. Therefore, I won’t allow anything to stop my joy in Jesus Name. Amen !_
