24/7 DOXA Content, 8th June-DEARLY LOVED AND ESTEEMED BY THE FATHER

Do you believe and know that since creation no man with his own strength, ability and might has fully met or fulfill the standards of God? Yes, for all have sinned in Adam and fell short of God’s glory. Understanding this truth will unveil to you the essence of Salvation. So when you believe in Christ, you are saved from Adam’s sin, influence and lifestyle. So it took Jesus the “God-man” to do this perfect job. Therefore, the Father had to attest to the infallibility or authenticity of His only begotten Son to those around that time.

So as revealed by our focal text, when John was baptizing Jesus, a voice from heaven spoke that _”this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased”. _The word “beloved” rendered in the Greek as “agapētos” means “esteemed, dearly loved, favourite or worthy of love.” “Pleased” also implies the one I take pleasure in; or one who seems good to me; or the one I prefer. So the Father implied that Jesus is the one He dearly loved and esteemed to save mankind from all their sins. This reality has a greater bearing on our lives as Christians in that when God accepted Jesus as His beloved, we (The Church) was also accepted as His beloved.

You are the Church and therefore you are highly esteemed and loved by the Father. Thus, Jesus represented the Head of the Church, so the Father couldn’t love and esteem the Head and hate the Church (as the body of Christ). As great as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and the Prophets were, none of them qualified as the beloved and pleased by Father to offer Salvation to mankind. The only one recognised in heaven and earth and affirmed by the Father was Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). It pleased the Father that you are His well beloved son or daughter in the order of Jesus Christ. If the Father didn’t hate Jesus Christ He cannot hate you. Walk as God’s dearly beloved and preferred one in all His glory and splendour. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER
_Dear Father, thank You for accepting, loving and taking pleasure in me through Your Son Jesus Christ. I humbly accept Your definition of me that I am your dearly loved and esteemed by You. I walk in the assurance of Your love and pleasure in me in Jesus Name. Amen!_
