We’ve known the need to engage in prayer and the benefits of it. It is good to know how to pray personally unto God for Him to answer. In our focal text, Apostle James also unveiled another dimension of prayer. And this one, the elders of the church are responsible. And he linked this kind of prayer to sickness. He asked if anyone is sick, let him call for the elders of the church. The elders could be the Pastor and his leaders (those called and anointed by God).
This time, you are being prayed for by a higher authority. *Being prayed for by the elders of the church is a sign of recognition of a higher authority and submision to the anointing of God over their lives.* Many teachings have gone out saying “we are all equal in the eyes of God, don’t let anyone pray for you.” And such statements contradict what scriptures say. Remember, there are different levels of faith and anointings. If you don’t understand this revelation, you will arrogantly suffer what you are not supposed to experience.
Beloved, are you sick? Call for the elders of the local church and let them pray for you and anoint you with oil in the Name of the Lord. The next verse says _”and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:5)._ Hallelujah ! *Cherished one, your personal prayer has a certain level and the prayers of the elders of the church come with another dimension.* Submit and allow them to pray for you in such times. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
_Precious Father, I thank You for Your unfeigned wisdom teaching me to submit to the prayers of the elders of the church. I humbly recognize the authority and anointing over their lives to deliver the necessary heart desire. I believe in the prayer of faith from my elders and enjoy the results thereof in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !_
