A BALANCED diet is said to enrich the body with the necessary nutrients required for building up your system. That is why you don’t just eat any food. Also you do not eat just for eating sake. Every bite of food that gets into your body system adds “something” to it. You see how famine or starving can affect one’s body; So it is in the spirit realm. Some are starving their innerman. *Many are spiritually malnourished, lacking the required nutrients for spiritual growth.*

From our focal text, one way to engage in spiritual growth is by feeding and acting on the word of God. However, it must first of all start with a desire. To desire means longing for something or intensive crave for possession. *Many long for so many things after being saved, but few desire to learn and know the word of God.* The Apostle entreats that as new born babes need to feed on milk in order to grow healthy, new born babes in Christ must also desire the Word to grow. *The young must grow. Spiritual growth must be seen as a necessity.*

Yes, a daily intake or dose of the word will bring a gradual total transformation. As you desire to pray, you must equally desire to feed on the word. This will help you to pray with power, knowledge, wisdom and understanding according to the will of God. *Because when your prayer life is not informed by the word of God, you’ll pray amiss.* You pray as a slave rather than praying as a child of God. Desire to grow! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank You for the desire placed in me to feed on the word. Your word teach and give me knowledge, wisdom and understanding in life. It makes me wise in the affairs of life. I refuse to remain a baby Christian. By the power of the Holy Spirit I am growing in the spirit, strength, power and might in Jesus’ Name. Amen !
