GLORIOUS greetings, Cherished one. Singing songs is seen as part of life. You often hear songs almost everywhere you go or find yourself. Statistics show that the average person listens to music more times than preaching. It is believed that songs are part of the wiring of mankind. Songs are made of words inspired by either personal experiences or divine revelation. People sing songs that relate to their life’s experiences or belief systems.
According to Matthew’s gospel in our focal text, Jesus and His disciples sang a hymn before going to the Mount of Olives. A hymn in our focal text refers to “Hallel” which means a psalm or psalms of praise and thanksgiving. Jesus Christ sang a hymn of praises and thanksgiving before facing the crucifixion. Selah! Beloved, the songs you listen to or sing form part of your faith life. It can determine whether you belong to the faith of Jesus Christ or not. It can also determine how mature you are in the things of God. Some songs set the tone for praiseful, joyful, sorrowful or lustful atmospheres. Gospel songs are unto edification, exhortation and consolation.
Songs with profane and mundane lyrics tend to inform you wrongly and incite wrong appetites and passions in your soul. Many people have consciously or unconsciously allowed certain wrong information into their spirits and minds through songs. Beloved, you can control your songs gallery. Choose your songs well. Allow songs of praise and worship, and exhortation that leads to the edification of your spirit, soul and body. Listen to and sing songs inspired by His glory and virtues. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank You for the wisdom to choose to control my songs gallery. I give myself to songs of praise, thanksgiving and worship and those that lift my spirit and mind unto edification, exhortation and consolation in Jesus Blessed Name. Amen !
