THE 21st century comes with its unique challenges. Economies keep on recessing. Most government policies keep on failing. In fact, the behaviour patterns suit the perilous time that the Bible talks about (2 Tim 3:1). Due to this, many find themselves doing so many things at a time. That may not be wrong per say. However, you should not be jack of all trade master of none. You can be jack of some trade master of one or few. For you won’t HIGHLY succeed trying to master everything you come across at once.
This is true in Bible times and current times. In the Bible days, those who were farmers focused much on their farming till they excelled. Joseph kept on interpreting dreams and mastered it till it led him to be a prime minister. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook focused on becoming a social media mogul. This led him to purchase WhatsApp and Instagram. Friend, you can’t excel highly in everything, but you can excel in what you have mastered or been assigned to do (purposeful life). When you focus your energy on one or few things, you will able to handle the necessities that comes with them.
According to our focal text, the Apostle saw the necessity of the gospel of Christ laid on him because he was focused on preaching it. _To dissipate means to use up or waste or squander by dispersion. In other words, doing so many things at a time without excelling in any._ Footballers and athletics highly understand this principle; because they have learned to master the effective use of their legs. This year, determine to master something that’ll make you relevant to your world before moving to another.Don’t dissipate your energy. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with always.
PRAYER
Father of All true wisdom, I thank You for the Wisdom that Your Word brings to my life. Necessity is laid on me to fulfil the task You’ve given me in excellence. I choose to press toward the goal of the upward calling of God in Christ. I’m focusing on my purpose till I master it in Jesus Name. Amen!
