FOCAL TEXT: John 13:1

►► “Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.”~|WEB| ______________________________________

GRACIOUS greetings, Cherished one. *There is no doubt that the love of Christ far surpasses any on this earth.* And it takes a revelation by Spirit to understand the depth, height and breadth of this love. No wonder Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 3:19 _”And thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge…”_ The love of Christ indeed surpasses mere human knowledge or understanding. Our focal text reveals the heart of Christ towards His own. Jesus knew His time to be crucified and died was very near.

Crucifixion, a time suffering, pain, rejection, public ridicule and humiliation for the sins He hadn’t committed awaited Him; Since He knew the pains and sufferings that was set before Him, shouldn’t He be filled with hatred, anger, resentment and bitterness in His heart against sinners? But read the focal text again, it says “having LOVED HIS OWN who were in the world”. So before that moment, love had rather filled His heart for the sinners that He would die for, not hatred, resentment, bitterness or anger. *The heart of Christ towards us is so beautiful and healthy. His love for us is everlasting.*

The last part says “He loved them to the end”. *This tells us Christ doesn’t love half-heartedly; and His love never breaks hearts and will not leave you halfway. He has that ability and capacity to love you to the end despite your flaws and mistakes.* Beloved, you are His very own and He loves you to the end. Appreciate His love and walk in love towards others to maintain healthy relationships. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.

PRAYER

_Precious Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for loving me with Your everlasting love. Thank You for loving me as Your very own. Thank You for loving me to the very end. You never leave nor forsake me. You never despise me. Thank You for loving me so much and teaching me to love others with your kind of love. Keep on empowering to do same for the brethren. Amen!_
