IN this age of information where there are platforms like social media, blogs, websites, radio, television, internet etc, you wake up each day to hear a lot. Many speakers, writers, authors, philosophers, scholars and various experts have all joined the information flow. Most of these ‘flow’ have been tagged as educative, entertaining and informative. However, most of them are destructive in disguise. Therefore it is expedient as a Christian to know the QUALITY and the POSITIVE IMPACT of the ‘information’ you allow into your heart and mind.
This is where you are admonished to use God’s word as a FILTER. Because, if the wrong information gets hold of your heart and mind, you will live out a ‘wrong life’. Nevertheless, in Christ, we are advantaged because when we LOOK IN THE PERFECT LAW OF LIBERTY, we are able to identify the right from wrong(James 1:25). It’s only the truth you know that’s able to make you free (John 8:32). Cherished one, you will hear ungodly, fearful or negative information BUT it is your RESPONSIBILITY to use God’s Word as a filter.
To filter means ‘to remove unwanted materials or impurities’.’_ *Don’t accept anything that contradicts God’s word as truth. Jesus unveiled in our focal text ‘we are cleaned or made pure by the WORD He speaks to us”. The words from the Lord does not defy you. It makes you pure. It positions your heart and mind from listening and accepting any information. Get to know what God’s word says about you, the situation and use it as a filter against anything contrary; and you would be sure of victory over anything ungodly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Dear faithful Father, I thank You for the ability of Your Word to make me pure and clean. I use it as a filter against anything ungodly. I declare I am not heeding to any other voice aside Yours. By your truth I am made free and advancing. Because Your word always stands sure. I give You all the glory in Jesus’ Name.
