Most times, many focus on what they don’t have and refuse to acknowledge all that they have. This attitude has robbed many from being grateful. This attitude has made many people selfish and even greedy. But if you want to get more, you don’t despise the little you have.*For it is a spiritual law that whoever has and recognizes what he has, much will be given him; and whoever has and doesn’t even appreciate it, the one he has will be taken away from him.
This was the case of the servant who received one talent from his master. He was so concerned about what others had to the extent that he never valued what he had in his hand till he even buried it.(Matt 25:25). Beloved, no matter the challenges in your life, you still have something better and greater to praise God for than those challenges. You have life which is precious than all. Having life is a prerequisite that you have hope for a better future. The holy scripture has rightly said “A living dog is better than a dead lion” (Eccl 9:4). As long as you have life, appreciate it and thank God.
Our focal text says, it is a good or pleasant thing to give thanks to the Lord. For all that He has done for you; the traveling mercies, saving you from accidents and attacks of enemies, He deserves thanksgiving and praises. And when you offer a ‘good thing’ to God, He receives it and sends forth blessings to you. One song writer has said “when the praises go up, His glory comes down.” To praise means to celebrate or adore a person. Never allow anything, situation or anyone stop you from praising God. For God is good and His mercies endure forever. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Precious Father, I thank You for all that You’ve done for my life, family, friends and loved ones. I send forth my praises unto you, Lord. I do not forget all Your glorious benefits in my life. Take all the glory, for only You deserve it in Jesus Name. Amen !
