BLISSFUL greetings, Cherished one. We’ve been learning on who a shepherd after God’s heart is and his assignment to God’s people. *This is very important because the shepherd or pastor is a leader; Jesus Christ said if the blind leads the blind they will all fall into the ditch. (Matthew 15:14 ).* Therefore the shepherd should be an enlightened leader with knowledge and understanding as unveiled by our focal text.

Thus, they must be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9). *Yes, a pastor should be learned and knowledgeable in the things of God in order to teach others.* Pastors are also mandated to feed you with understanding. Understanding here implies insight and intelligence. Christianity is a knowledge based experience in God’s will as revealed in Christ and His finished works, not old wives fables, superstitions and endless genealogies.

Whenever you encounter a pastor after God’s heart, your level of knowledge, insight and intelligence should increase or improve for the better. Insight and intelligence in the affairs of life is needed for advancement. In a nutshell, these shepherds are to help deal with spiritual ignorance and dullness, not otherwise. They make the heart and minds of saints illuminated by the power of God’s word, not darkened by religion. Be intentional about being fed with knowledge and understanding, not just with prayers topics. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
