BLISSFUL greetings, Cherished one. After the centurion’s lovely heart took him to Jesus, he also exhibited another higher attitude worthy of emulation. This act of his got our Lord Jesus commending him. (Matthew 8:10). After begging Jesus to come and heal his servant, Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”(Matthew 8:7 ). Jesus accepted to heal the man. He didn’t refuse it. There is no diseases or sickness that is above the power of Christ. But the centurion “…said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only SPEAK a word, and my servant will be healed.”
The man was aware of his imperfection and weakness as a mere man. He saw how worthy, great and anointed Jesus is as the Son of the living God. In other words, He was saying he couldn’t host Jesus under his roof as a sinful man. This is why none can earn salvation by works except through the unmerited grace that comes through Christ (Ephesians 2:5,8,9). The centurion explained why Jesus should speak a word and his servant will be healed in our FOCAL text. What a powerful statement!
In conclusion, the officer meant that the same way he has authority over his servants and commands them to obey without resistance, Jesus too has authority over the sickness of paralysis and when Jesus speaks the sickness will be gone. What an attitude of faith this man had in Jesus. Cherished one, JESUS is set over all manner of sickness and diseases and the word of Christ is able to heal all who reach out to him. Healing is now yours Receive it. Jesus is not here physically to speak to your situation, but His power is inside you. Use the power of His Spirit and command anything ungodly and unhealthy to leave your life. If Jesus is set over all diseases, so are you set over because you reign with HIM. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus abounds towards you always.
PRAYER
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for perfecting healing on the cross for me through your stripes. I command any diseases and sickness whether visible or hidden to flush out of my body right now. For You are my health. I walk in divine health in Your Blessed Name. Amen!
