BLESSED greetings Cherished one. The earth as created by God has a lot of resources in diverse forms. But the best resource destined to manage all these resources is humans. Humanity is the best caretaker of the resources created by God. Humanity is destined to use these resources in order to be wealthy. There are a lot of principles on earth that when followed will lead one to become wealthy.

However, there is a word or attitude that has turned many lives in shambles. Certain continents, countries and people have been described and fallen under its category. That word is called poverty. Poverty has received a lot of definitions such as lack, been needy, not having enough resources to fulfill your assignment on earth. When you can’t meet the basic needs of life, food, clothes, drink, shelter, you are classified as poor. Jesus Christ in a certain parable in Luke 16:20,21 called Lazarus “poor”.

He used words like “beggar, full of sores (thus, he didn’t have enough to treat his diseases) and “desired to be fed with crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table” (this describes severe hunger of Lazarus due to poverty). Beloved, poverty is destructive as revealed in our focal text. Poverty is poisonous. Poverty is shameful. It is not a life of honour. Never entertain poverty in your life. A rich man’s wealth becomes like a citadel of strength, but the poverty of the poor leaves their security in shambles. Fight against poverty before it destroys. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always. Amen!
