GRACIOUS greetings, Cherished one. One way God shows you His goodness is by having mercy on you. Mercy as God’s nature is for the benefit of His children. He is rich in mercy towards us because of the good things He desires to accomplish through us. Thus, the expression of His mercy is to empower you to experience His goodness, walk in godliness and fulfill His purposes. That is why the goodness of the Lord leads to repentance, not rebellion (Romans 2:4). It causes you to walk with a renewed mindset of love and godly character.

The Lord’s mercies keep you safe unto Himself and deliver you from the wickedness of the devil and consequences of sin. God’s mercies toward you put the devil, the accuser of the brethren into silence in your life. Where the devil demands condemnation, the Lord’s mercy offers free justification. The claws of sin has no power over you when the Lord shows you His mercies.

Our focal text says it is by the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed. The word “consumed” means “to be finished, come to an end, fail or be destroyed”. So His mercies shield us from being consumed by Satan and sin. This implies that we are preserved and secured by His mercies. Yes, His mercies serve as a protective covering and shield over your life. Therefore utilize His mercies for good, not otherwise. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
