SHALOM greetings, Cherished one. The Christian life has been designed by Papa God to be lived in love and not fear. Love is what should guide your speech, thoughts and actions. Our focal text unveils that ”love does not rejoice in iniquity”. The word “iniquity” as used here is the Greek word “adikia”. It means injustice, unrighteousness, immoral character, inequity or dishonesty. Iniquity involves every word, thought and deeds of mankind that contradicts the person, character and principles of Christ, the model for the glorious life.
To rejoice means to be full of cheer, thrive or hail. But love does not cheer unrighteousness. Yes, love does not take constant pleasure in ungodliness and unrighteousness. It does not feel proud about sin. A person walking in this kind of love hates iniquity. This love has the ability to propel the believer to walk in righteousness. Love sets a boundary for the Christian. So Apostle says “For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God. Or if we are of sober mind, it is for you. For the love of Christ constrains us…” (2 Corinthians 5:13-14).
Love puts a positive limitation on you as to what you can say, think and do; and those things to avoid. We cannot live like the world because we are controlled and influenced by the love of God. Love bears on you the responsibility to be disciplined for right living. There are those who rejoice when a brother falls or faces difficulties. That is not love at work. Don’t wish that a brother or sister will fall or fail in any positive venture. Because love does not rejoice in evil or iniquity. Go out today and be motivated by the love of God and refuse to rejoice in iniquity. Frown over all manner of unrighteousness. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
I DECLARE
Righteous Father, I thank You for giving me the love ability to abhor injustice, unrighteousness and ungodliness. I receive more grace to thrive in fighting the good of faith against all manner of unrighteousness. I refuse to rejoice in anything ungodly in Jesus Blessed Name. Amen !
