GRACIOUS greetings to you, Cherished one. There are two ways to perceive things since we live in two worlds. The tangible and the intangible world. The tangible or physical world is lived by the five senses. It is where you calculate everything based on what you see, hear, feel, touch, smell and think. Yes, as humans, there is a good place for your senses. For instance, you don’t need spiritual advice before you take your bath. However, God’s word, history and experience have shown us that it is very dangerous to live only by your five senses, though there are positive uses of the senses.
One root cause of the fall of the human race came as a result of over-reliance on the five senses. Eve saw the fruit with the wrong eyes that it was good to the flesh but she didn’t see the fruit was forbidden by God in the spirit realm. It takes faith to respond to God’s word without analysis. Eve did not live by God’s revelation, rather she stuck to only her mental faculty (Genesis 3:6). To live by sense is what we call flesh and blood revelation. *The senses have its limitation. And that is, it cannot accept the deep things of God.* However, note, God is not against the positive use of your senses; Because He gave them to you.
As a child of God, you are born to live by your faith sense. Faith is a platform that connects you to the spirit realm. Our human spirit responds to spiritual things by faith. However, in God’s wisdom, a man should live on the earth with both the senses and faith through revelation based on God’s word. There is a place for the senses and a good place for faith. For instance, in our focal text, Paul made a decision by faith to respond to the call of God than looking to what the Pharisees would say. Beloved, where you are to apply commonsense, use it; Where you need to apply faith or revelation, go for it. God’s word in the Bible reveals to us how to live in the balance of both senses and faith. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Gracious Father, I thank You for the wisdom in Your word which teaches and guides me in all my ways. By the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I know when to apply the senses and where to apply my faith sense. Your wisdom sets me far above any limitations in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
