THE danger of uncontrolled anger has led many people to lose some good friends, marriage, positions, accreditation and dignity. That’s why we are admonished not to stay angry. Anger may come like a seed but if nurtured will bear wicked fruits. Ephesians says _”Don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.”_ Staying angry can be a breeding ground for the activities of the devil.
But the good news is that God can help you conquer the spirit of anger in order to restore everything lost through it. First, by restoring your own heart through repentance. Thus, change your mind towards anger. Free yourself from the shackles of anger. See human beings as humans who can always make mistakes. Two, decide to reconcile with anyone or anything you are still angry with. Thus, choose to make peace with others as Jesus said in our focal text. Make things right between you and that good friend, couple, relative or loved one.
The word “reconcile” as used in our opening text means to change thoroughly or renew friendship with one. Remember, the first murder happened through a man with an angry heart (Gen 4:5). Therefore, _”Calm your anger and abandon wrath. Don’t be angry— it only leads to evil” (Psalm 37:8). Mostly, every thing done in anger result in futility. Conquering anger will benefit you in no small way. You will be able to keep your good friends, relatives, position, marriage, relationships, business. It will bring you promotion and favour with people. Allow God’s word to empower you against anger and make peace with all. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Father of all peace, I thank You for given me the ministry of reconciliation. I graciously reconcile with anyone who has offended me to anger in one way or the other. I choose to make peace as admonished by Your unfailing word. I forgive and stay in love with all by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
