24/7 DOXA Content 2019 TUESDAY, 17th September-THE LIFESTYLES OF GRACE

GLORIOUS greetings to you, Cherished one. We’ve learnt that the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all teaching and training all to deny ungodliness and worldly lust. And we know that this kind of grace does not accept everything. Today, our focal text unveils to us another discipline of the grace of God. And that is, it teaches us to live soberly. To live “soberly” means living with a sound mind, moderate or self-controlled in all you do. In other words, His grace promotes sober living. It makes you careful and vigilant. It doesn’t make you careless.

It makes you think with a sound mind in order to discipline and control yourself in the affairs of life. Yes, the grace of God makes you sensible. Two, the grace promotes righteous living. Thus, it makes you upright. Righteous living is a lifestyle which agrees to God’s standard of righteousness and justice. God is a righteous God; He has made you righteous in Christ to empower you live a righteous life (Romans 5:19). Finally, His grace promotes godly living. Godliness is living like God. It implies a devout and spiritually whole life.

It makes you have a special reverence for all that God is, has and can do. It trains you to talk, think and act like Christ. One thing to note is that, the lifestyle of God’s grace is not telling you to do some things in order to be accepted by God; Rather you do these as a result of the life of grace you have received from God through Christ. In other words, because you’ve received the life of God in Christ, you are being admonished to live in line with the glorious life in Him. Keep on fellowshipping with God’s word and Spirit and you’ll manifest the lifestyles of His grace. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

PRAYER
Gracious Father, I thank You for the gracious life You’ve called me into. I thank You for empowering me by Your Holy Spirit to manifest the lifestyles of Your grace in all aspect of my life. I choose to humbly live in line with Your benevolent grace all the days of my life in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
