GLORIOUS greetings to you Cherished one. Jesus never speaks to incite argument or debate. *To the people with Pharisee mindset, they see argument and debates in whatever Jesus says but to those who are born again in Christ, they see wisdom, revelation and spiritual truth in the words of Jesus Christ.* And spiritual truths are for the humble, not the arrogant. According to Jesus, one of the spiritual truths or signs that would accompany those who believe is that they would speak with new tongues. So speaking in new tongues is not an initiative of any human or pastor or denomination.
They are the very words from Jesus’ mouth to the disciples. This new tongues is not referring to natural languages of humans but a spiritual language. Because you don’t need to believe in Jesus Christ to speak a natural language. Everyone can learn a natural language. But this one refers to a spiritual language which is one of the evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:4, the Bible says “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
So speaking in tongues comes as a result of being filled with the Spirit; Then, you speak as the Holy Spirit gives you utterance. Speaking in tongues is one of the effective means of praying to God in the spirit. 1 Corinthians 14:2 says “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit.” You also edify, build up or refresh yourself when you speak in tongues (1 Corinthians 14:4). Beloved, if you don’t speak in new tongues as a believer, desire it and the Holy Spirit will fill you to speak. When you do, you will be able to tell the difference between praying in your natural language and that of spiritual language. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
I DECLARE
I believe all that Jesus says would accompany me as a believer. Therefore I am empowered to preach the gospel to every creature. I cast out devils in the Name of Jesus Christ and I speak in new tongues as the Spirit gives me utterance. Hallelujah!
