THE birth, crucifixion, death and burial of our Lord Jesus Christ have a great significance to the believer. None of these was just a show off. However, the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the beauty and glory of the Christian faith. Resurrection simply means arising from the dead and becoming alive again. Jesus truly died and came back to life again by the power of God (Acts 13:30). Unlike other scholars, prophets and philosophers, the tomb of Jesus Christ is empty. He died and rose again. And He is lives forevermore.
No one has dominion over death except Jesus Christ. He declared boldly in Revelation 1:18 _“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” His resurrection has a lifetime inspiration for every believer. It gives you a lively hope; and takes away all forms uncertainty about resurrection from the dead. Our focal text unveils that if our hope is only dependent on this life, then we are the most miserable or pitiable of all men. But the glorious REALITY is that Christ is risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. Hallelujah !
If He is the firstfruit of them that slept, then all those who have died would certainly rise again to life. Cherished ones, because of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are never miserable or pitiable. We are never without hope. Our lives are anchored on the living hope of His resurrection. Jesus was raised from the dead unto the Father’s glory. Therefore believe in Jesus, so that when you die, you will resurrect unto the same glory. Yes, we are never miserable. We have hope on this earth and the after life because Christ is risen and lives forevermore. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
All Praise and honour, glory and power be unto the Father forevermore for His glorious wisdom and care for His children. Jesus died for me and rose for me so that I won’t be miserable but rather enjoy the benefits of His resurrection forevermore. My hope is alive in the risen Christ. And nothing can take it away from me in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
