BLISSFUL greetings to you, Cherished one. We’ve been learning some basic tenets or realities concerning salvation. Thus, you’ve been delivered from the power of darkness and gloriously translated to the Kingdom of God’s dear Son (Colossians 1:13). Therefore, this revelation should inform and transform how you live, speak and think. In other words, after you are born again, there are some things to do in order to grow intentionally in your speech, thinking and lifestyle. Yes, like physical growth, spiritual growth is intentional, not automatic. Growth is a necessity, not optional as a believer.
Physically, you take in energy-given foods, bodybuilding and protective foods to get your body protected from diseases. Whiles, you’re taking a balanced diet and keeping other healthy tips you begin to grow well. In the same vein, you must consciously or deliberately decide to embark on intentional spiritual growth. Spiritual growth will not come automatically because you are born again. The born again has duties or responsibilities to engage to lead to growth.* Therefore our focal text says, like newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that you grow by it.
So, first of all, growth comes as you SINCERELY or truly DESIRE the PURE word of God. Thus, making a passionate choice to grow by God’s word. Pursue your DESIRE to grow by studying the word through revelation. If the newborn baby refuses breastmilk it will affect his growth. Read and study your Bible personally and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you. Attend and submit to ministers of God called to teach and preach the word for conscious learning. As you study the word, you will be feeding your faith to face challenges. Also, pursue the desire to fellowship with God in personal prayers. Build a personal prayer altar. Consciously engage in spiritual activities inspired by the Spirit and you’ll grow unto God’s glory. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you always.
PRAYER
Faithful Father, I thank You for the privilege to be taught Your word. I humbly submit to the authority of Your word and guidance of Your Spirit for revelation, enlightenment and illumination to growth. My desire for spiritual things keeps growing as I fellowship with You. I, therefore, enjoy the benefits of my passion for growth in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
