GLORIOUS greetings to you, Cherished one. Our focal text unveils a strong, passionate and soberly counsel from an insightful father. This is for all who loves to enjoy the glorious life in Christ. Because one spirit working in this end time is sinners trying to entice, tempt or lure the sons and daughters of God. Jesus unveiled a powerful reality in John 17:14: “I have given them your word, and the world has hated them…” As part of the world hating you is to entice you against what God hates. So be watchful, for the word of God you have learned, believed and received will be challenged in one way or the other. If you receive God’s word on righteous living, sinners would entice you to walk opposite to it.
If you receive God’s word on prosperity, you will be enticed to live in lack and poverty. Since you are not of the world but in the world, this is one fight you’ll be engaging day in day out. Three major definitions explain the word “Entice” in our focal text. One, it means ” to make a room or give space”, which literally means allowing them to direct your pace, decisions or choices. Never occupy the “space or room” sinners give you no matter how nice it seems. Another definition is “PERSUASION”. In this generation, the devil keeps on persuading people through the deceitfulness of riches, secular songs and other corrupt fashionable lifestyles.
The third definition is SEDUCTION, through the lust of the flesh, eyes and pride of life. These are constant tools that the devil/ sinners used to deceive many. *But the New Creation who is enlightened by God’s Word and Spirit should be watchful to avoid falling into his persuasion.* You have enough complete armour of God to stand and withstand any wiles or strategies of the devil. The fifth verse says “My son, do not go along with them, and keep your feet AWAY from their paths!” DO NOT CONSENT (meaning, do not yield, accept, desire or be willing) TO THE ENTICEMENT OF SINNERS. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank You for enlightening me by Your Spirit through Your word. I put on Your whole armour to stand and refuse to consent to the enticement of sinners. I believe I have overcome the world and its pleasures. I receive daily spiritual empowerment to live for You alone in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
