Ephesians 4 vs
32》 “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”~《King James Version》
BLISSFUL greetings to you, Cherished one. Peter, one of the disciples of Christ usually asked questions bothering his mind. One question he asked was “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?…”(Matthew 18:21). This question implies that, as long as you remain human and live on this earth, people will offend you and therefore you must be prepared to forgive them. Offences may come from relatives, loved ones and friends, however, Christ taught us to forgive genuinely from our heart. Do you know God forgave us from His heart and not just His mouth and remembers them no more?
Jesus taught us to forgive genuinely because He knew the ultimate essence of this virtue. He was sent to save the world from their sins, therefore had to forgive them not holding their sins against them (2 Corinthians 5:18; John 1:29; 1 John 2:1,2). Apostle Paul enjoins that ” In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins…” (Ephesians 1:7). The unwillingness to genuinely forgive others is a sign that you haven’t understood the forgiveness you received from Jesus Christ. Jesus forgave all your sins in order to empower you to also forgive others who will offend you.
Therefore, with the love of God in you, learn to forgive those who wrongly step on your toes. You may be bitter or hurt because of a painful experience from a loved one or relative. But, as a New Creation, the love of God that makes you act like Him is shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Human nature will like to hold things but the Divine nature will always love to free lives despite their wrongs, mistakes and wickedness. Be moved by compassion and forgive others for Christ’s sake, not their sake. Today, the same way Christ forgave you, go and do the same. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abounds towards you always.
Dear Father and Lord, I thank You for not counting my sins against me. Thank You for forgiven me all my sins. I totally humble myself to forgive others of all the trespasses willingly or unwillingly done against me. Thank You for the grace given me to do this in Jesus Blessed Name. Hallelujah !
