BLESSED greetings to you, Cherished one. Our focal scripture reflects the real-life experiences of King David and how he dealt with them. David as a King had a prophetic inclination to the counsel of God. He was one of the very few in the Old Testament who had the Holy Spirit (Psalm 51:1). Due to this experience, he lived ahead of his time. He saw things that other kings couldn’t see. He even saw and said things pertaining to Christ (Psalm 16:10/ 49:9/110:1). At this time of writing our focal text, his own biological son, Absalom had rebelled against him and wanted to kill him.
So in the previous verse, he said “Many there are who say of my soul, “There is no help for him in God.” Isn’t it dangerous that your own son could rise against your kingdom and personality? However, he wasn’t perturbed. Isn’t it funny sometimes when some people think Your God cannot and will not help you? Because they may even know your mistakes, weakness, flaws, and failures; But God is faithful at all times. So whoever takes the words of men final has embraced total failure and defeat. Successful people in the Kingdom are those who ride on the wings of God’s unfailing word revealed to their inner man.
So beloved, stop focusing and recounting the words of your adversary or situations and start focusing on the voice and ability of the One who knows you before you became a clot of blood. That is what David did in our focal text, he said: “BUT…” Thus, no matter what the enemy or situation says or demands, there is another side of victory. “But” implies recognizing the other side of a matter. He refused to only look or focus on the side of the enemy. There is a “BUT” that implies you have a choice or revelation from the LORD on the matter at hand. The best side to focus is always in Christ, not on your crisis. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you always.
PRAYER
My Precious Father, Lord and God. I thank You for the revelation of Your wisdom through Your word. I acknowledge You at all times. For in You I live and move and have my being. You are my victory and my all in all. I focus on the best side in Christ and I triumph over every scheme of the adversary in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
