OUR focal text unveils a reality of life that people who are diligent and skillful in business have a portion with royalty. Most times nothing works until someone works it out. We are admonished in scripture that we are stewards and it is required of stewards to be faithful and diligent (1 Corinthians 4:2). One great man has rightly said “there is enough space at the top so you cannot afford to stay at the base.” And it takes much diligence to get to the top. As a child of God, your hands and mind are anointed by God (2 Timothy 1:7), therefore use them diligently. It has been said that “more miracle happens to the prepared mind“.You can’t glory in average and mediocrity whiles you have more than enough capacity up there.
Laziness and lackadaisical attitudes have crept down many lives and businesses. _”Slothfulness casts one into a deep sleep, and an idle person shall suffer hunger (Proverbs 19:15)”._ Thus, hunger and poverty “decorates” the homes of lazy hands and minds. There are many idle hands, but there are also many idle minds. Some people have able bodies but their minds are idle and lazy. Your mind must be “skilled or quick in business”. Use your anointed and skillful mind! You can’t be diligent in business or life without reading and learning consistently.
Take advantage of technology, learn new ways of doing things; Take that new course, attend that seminar or conference in order to stand out from the crowd. Cherished one, both your spiritual and physical life need diligence to make a difference. Spend quality time to feed your spirit, soul and body with God’s word. Remember God rewarded the diligence of Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Daniel, the Apostles etc. Your diligence in God will also be rewarded. It will never be in vain. You will have a place with royalty through persistent diligence. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank You for the sweet counsel revealed from Your Word. I position myself to receive much grace to be diligent and faithful in any field You’ve called me into. A life of increase and productivity is what You cherish. Therefore, I am set on course for a fruitful life through gracious diligence endowed on me by Your Spirit in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
