Blessed greetings to you, Cherished one. We’ve been learning on the great deliverance and freedom God brought to us in Christ Jesus. Yes, if you are in Christ, then you are truly delivered and liberated by the power of God. Now, it behooves on you to live with the mindset as one delivered and liberated. The works done by Christ when believed renews your mindset and way of life. Your deliverance is a true reality, not a comedy. Your name is not found on the devil’s database. You are indeed the child of the most high God, named as part of His family (Ephes 3:15). However, when you know you are delivered and made free, it gives you a sense of responsibility.
In other words, your deliverance doesn’t stop the devil or the challenges of life from attacking. Rather, it brings you to the level of responsibility where you can stop the devil and challenges from having dominion over you. Our focal text unveils that Christ has given us authority. And this authority is given for a purpose; That’s to tread upon serpents and scorpions and all the full force or works of the enemy. When you become born again, it is not a way of escape from the devil or works of the devil; Rather, it is a way that you are ENABLED or EMPOWERED to face and DESTROY the works of the devil (James 4:7/ 1 John 3:8).
Snakes represents the cunning or deceptive ways of the devil. Scorpions represent the poisonous sting or mindset that the devil use to manipulate people. Jesus is saying tread or trash upon them as a Champion. Yes, you have the upper-hand over the devil and his works of sin, death, sickness, failure, evil thoughts and pleasures. Beloved, exercise authority over them and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Yes, the devil cannot resist the authority of Christ invested in you. For you’ve been authorized to triumph. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Faithful Father, I thank You for showing me how to live life in mastery. By virtue of my identity in You, I rise up in responsibility to exercise authority over snakes, scorpions and all the works of the enemy. The works of the devil against me shall never prosper. I condemn any accusing tongues in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
