BLISSFUL greetings to you, Cherished one. Reading the Bible without taking cognizance of the various tenses will always make you a slave to your past, false doctrines, prophets and teachers. Some people read the Bible with a circumstantial mindset or prejudice. They think because they are challenged in one way or other then God’s word should also change to their thinking. No! God’s word would not change to suit your thinking and confession. The word of God is sure and it is what it is. God is not a comedian. He doesn’t play with words. He is not a man so He means what He says and says what He means. So you must take His word serious.
Our focal text shows the real state of the New Creation. And it says God has delivered you. Yes, the day you believed in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you were delivered from the dominion of Satan and sin. All the angels in heaven and cohorts of hell are witnesses that you have been delivered. So you can’t live and think that as if you are not delivered. God HAS delivered you, NOT WILL DELIVER you. There is no deliverance that’s greater than this one. All sort of deliverance is as a result of this great deliverance from the shackles of the devil. Your great deliverance didn’t come when hands were laid on you; it came when you became born again in Christ.
Our focal text shows us where you’ve been delivered from; the power of darkness. The word “power” used here is the Greek word “exousia” which means “authority”. Authority implies control or influence. So God has delivered you from the control and influence of darkness. Satan heads the power of darkness. He is responsible for blinding the minds of unbelievers (2 Cor 4:4). But you are delivered from his camp. Hallelujah! You are no more under the power or authority of the devil. Don’t allow him to dictate the course of your life. You are delivered. This revelation forms your solid foundation in Christ. It’s illegal to believe in Jesus and still be in bondage to the devil. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you always.
PRAYER
Thank You Cherished Father for Your great deliverance through Your begotten Son, Jesus Christ. I am truly delivered and indeed rescued from the authority of darkness. I am now under Your control, influence and authority. My status has changed from the captive to the delivered. I rejoice in the great deliverance forever in Jesus Precious Name. Amen!
