JESUS came to fulfill what was written concerning Him by the Prophets and Patriarchs of Old. He came down to do His Father’s will, not His own. It is evidently seen in the gospels that He consistently talked about His assignment and fulfilled it. As important as fulfilling one’s vision is, one thing that cannot be ignored is prayer. So a cursory look at our focal text unveils Jesus praying to the Father concerning His will on earth.
Like Jesus Christ, you are also born to fulfill a glorious destiny on this earth. Do you know what you were born to do? You are not an accident or non-entity to roam about on this earth. If you already know your purpose, pray and receive strength to accomplish it. If you don’t know, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, directions and instructions into your divinely ordained purpose. This is exactly that Jesus did, He prayed that the Father’s will would be done in His life.
In other words, He was ready to submit His will to the Father’s in order to fulfil what the Father has for Him; and this He did by sharing His life as a propitiation for the sins of the whole world (John 1:29; 1 John 2:2/Romans 3:25). This year, be determined and engage in purposeful prayer. Don’t compare your life with your peers and chase every wind. Seek the face of God in prayer that would reveal His purpose and cause it to be fulfilled. The rich grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Precious Glorious Father, I thank You for the gift of life full of strength and blessings. I humbly submit my will under Yours for Your will to be done in my life. As I seek Your face in prayer, I receive revelations concerning my purpose on earth in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
