MAKING the choice to deny the world and follow Jesus Christ is one the sacrifices everyone makes to enjoy a glorious life. And this choice comes with rewards or benefits. Apostle Peter who left all he had to follow Jesus wanted to know whether serving God and fulfilling the Kingdom assignment has any good to offer at the end (Mark 10:28). To leave here implies to “lay aside or disregard”. Beloved, when you make the choice to follow Jesus, it means there are some things you have definitely laid aside or disregarded. You can’t keep hold of old habits, lifestyles, conversation and thinking whiles holding on to Jesus.
*No, you’ll deliberately leave certain things as get to know Jesus more and more.* Let’s consider the answer Jesus gave Peter. Note, Jesus didn’t rebuke Peter. He didn’t tell him he was carnal or nonspiritual for saying that. _”So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.” Mark 10:29,30)._ What a remarkable answer !
Here, Jesus assured him that there would be physical, material and spiritual rewards or blessings for all those who disregard the world for the sake of the gospel and the Kingdom. “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love…” (Heb 6:10). *Cherished one, God pays and He pays best for every service you render. He is not a cheat. He is a rewarder. He rewards your diligence pursuit in faith.* A rewarder is one pays wages. He is a remunerator. Keep on serving Him in faith, faithfulness and diligence. He will blow your mind with His true blessings that no man can gainsay. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Generous Father, I thank You for the kind heart You have towards me. I graciously serve You in all faith, faithfulness and all diligence. I am fully persuaded that nothing will be able to separate me from Your love. I therefore receive and enjoy the glorious rewards that come from serving You in the Name of my Lord Jesus Christ. Amen !_
