MANY HAVE believed in lies due to wrong teachings which are based on traditions of men, philosophy and the enticing words of peoples wisdom. Such folks found themselves in this mess because they’ve never decided to become ardent students of the word. Thus, their attitude towards God’s word is without much eagerness and willingness. An ardent student is one who is passionate, fervent and glowing in his academic. *Any serious Christian ought to be an ardent student of the holy scriptures else he would be easily deceived.*
How one reacts to God’s word is very essential. It determines the success of that individual. Some people have a lazy attitude towards the Bible which contains the words of God. Therefore, they tend to believe anything they hear as coming from the Bible. This attitude has brought to fore many teachers and even denominations. Well, that’s not bad as long as it leads to the edification of the body of Christ *but if it leads to the weakness of the body of Christ then it’s very dangerous and needs to be vehemently dealt with.*
This is one reason why the Spirit through the Apostle warned the Galatians that _”though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed”_ (Gal 1:8). Because there is only one gospel, which is the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our focal text gives us a great example worthy of emulation from the Jews in Berea. *Their attitude towards God’s word did not end at the synagogue but continued afterwards.* Learn to cultivate such a serious and passionate attitude towards the holy scriptures. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
I DECLARE
_The Spirit of God brings to my understanding the things and realities in God. For the Spirit searches all things, yea the deep things of God. I refuse to be deceived in any way. With readiness and willingness of heart, I make a diligent search of the scriptures to fully appropriate what Christ has laid for my life. For the true word of God always puts me on top. Hallelujah !_
