POWER TO CARRY OUT HIS PLANS

WHEN Jesus walked with His Disciples, He saw their weaknesses and imperfections in their words, thinking and deeds. Even in terms of their faith life, Jesus often wondered how faithless they were towards certain things. In Mark 9:19, Jesus responded that _“Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you?….”_ He was very much aware of their unbelief and inadequacy of power and revelation knowledge. He therefore foresaw that they wouldn’t be able to do the work with this same attitude. *And He brought the solution by orienting them to the Holy Spirit.*
He said to them _”I will not leave you orphans or without help or comfort. I will come to you” (Joh 14:18)._ And that Comforter was the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). Our focal text unveils Jesus’ last words to His Disciples. He said they would receive power. This means as at that time they hadn’t received that power which will be upon them to do the work of the ministry. The word “power” also means ability, efficiency and might. Cherished one, the Holy Spirit comes with power, efficiency and might in you, with you and upon you to carry out the plans of God. You cannot serve and carry out God’s plans with your fleshy strength, you will quit on the way.
The Christian life is a high, heavenly and holy calling. Therefore, you need to rely on heavenly mandate, power and resources to carry on this journey. Are you weary in your Christian journey? Do you feel tired or weak to continue onto more glory? Then you need to call out on the power of the Holy Spirit. His mission is to help us serve God effectively in Christ till the end of this world. Beloved, with the power of the Holy Spirit upon you, you are sure to carry out the plans of God for your life and the world. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Glorious Father of all Power, Efficiency and Might, I thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit upon me. You are my all in all Resources to carry out Your plans for my life and the world. I lay before You all my weakness, flaws, imperfections and limitations and I rely on Your power, efficiency and might to run the race that’s set before me to the end in Jesus Name. Amen !
