AS we embrace the prayers of the elders of the Church, we also have to walk in another dimension where we forgive and pray for one another. As human as you are, there are times you will offend others and others too will offend you. Yes, there are those who will consciously or unconsciously step on your toes. Our focal text admonishes us that in such cases acknowledge your faults or mistakes and confess it for forgiveness. Doing so will result to healing and refreshment.
There are folks who will never accept the fact that they have offended you. But don’t be like such folks. When you offend your neighbour, accept your fault and ask for forgiveness and walk in repentance towards him. This is very necessary so that brotherly love would continue (Hebrews 13:1). Proverbs 17:9 says “He who covers an offense promotes love; but he who repeats a matter separates best friends.”
After confessing your faults to one another, pray for one another. Yes! Pray for that neighbour, brother, sister, friend, relative or loved one. We’re living in a world where the devil sows discord among people so that love wouldn’t continue. But when you pray for one another, every attitude which has a spiritual root will be uprooted and transformation will take place. Refuse to think evil of others, pray for them. Refuse to backbite or gossip about others, pray for them. Seek the welfare of others and pray for one another. By so doing we will live in peace, harmony and prosperity. The rich grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
PRAYER
Glorious Father, I thank You for admonishing me in Your word. I humbly submit to the dictate of Your word to forgive those whose offend me and pray one for another. I promote brotherly love as You first loved me. I graciously do this in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen !
